CITY.LOOP.COLLAB s a multi platform collaborative piece between Romani Benjamin and Andrew Phillips which discusses the skins of a city through public art projects. It conducts performative artworks which engage the city itself as much as capturing the attention of the urban dwellers: “all of us make up the contours of that particular city; continually add to the layers of the city as we live our lives”.

Each project is a site specific performance which seeks to mirror elements of a place and those who live there. CITY.LOOP.COLLAB presents an ephemeral sculptural work that uses found material from each site, transforming its physical expressions by placing ideas back into the environment in the form of an immersive video work.

The COLLAB works according to a process. Each site is ʻtaggedʼ with a number and the event recorded as an archive on the City.Loop website. We work from the premise that every city continually provides a changing record of itself. These records contribute to an archive of what has gone before and what is happening at any given moment.

Thanks to the musicians who wrote original compositions for these projects: Hugh Crosthwaite, Leonardo Caltabiano and Rohan Watson and The Afrobiotics.
